830am - 3pm: Snorkeling and Dolphins

Molokini Crater is one of the best places to snorkel in the world, with beautiful coral and tons of tropical fish.  Plus wild dolphins frequent these areas.  Come out to snorkel, hang out with the dolphins, and learn about these beatiful creatures.  Pacific Whale Foundation provides Eco-Adventures to do just this.  Hoss and I have booked the Molokini-Lana’i Snorkel & Wild Dolphin tour departing out of Ma’alaea.  Come join us for a day of fun in the sun!

545pm-845pm: Old Lahaina Luau

When in Hawai’i, go to a Luau!  The Old Lahaina Luau is touted to be the best, most traditional luau on the island.  A caveat though…there is no firedancing at this luau, so don’t go to this one if that’s what you want. They’re all about the history of the hula and firedancing technically isn’t a Hawaiian tradition.  If you’re interested in joining the party, call up Old Lahaina 1-800-248-5828 and reference the Ng/Hostetter party.  We have seats blocked for us so that we can all sit together: Confirmation # 649213.  Any seats not reserved by 4/30/09 will be released to the general public, so decide quickly!

Go casual. Hawaiian shirts and flip flops allowed and encrouraged (unless you’re Mark, Lee or Hoss that is).

They are also waiving the minimum reservation requirement for all of these discounts, so if any one was hesitant to book a room at the hotel because of that: rest easy.  If you make a reservation using one of these discounted rates, there’s no risk that the price will go up.  (Just make sure you don’t wait too long, or the room type you want to book may be sold out.)

Second: Some folks have asked us about the possibility of arranging ride shares to/from the airport with other wedding guests on the same flights (or other flights arriving near the same time). If you are interested, feel free to post your travel dates and contact info in the comments of this post so other people can get in touch with you.

We’ve registered with Hawaiin Airlines to take advantage of their “Wedding Wings” program which offers 5% discounts on flights to the wedding. People who are interested can find details on our “Travel Info” page.

If anyone has any problems making reservations, don’t hesitate to contact Viv or I — and don’t forget: the discounted rates are good as long as space is available, so the sooner people make reservations the better.
